ARAB BEDOUIN: No Future Without Past
An exhibition based on the project will be on from 15 to 25 January 2020 at the Bargehouse in London.
The exhibition celebrates the heritage of the Bedouin people of Lebanon, Jordan and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, giving them an opportunity to share their culture and way of life. Visitors will meet the Bedouin and hear their stories through art, photography, film and sound. They will be able to trace historic nomadic routes, which once crossed national borders but are now restricted by political change and conflict. They will listen to the words of Bedouin participants in the project, their voices, hopes and concerns for the future.
البدو العرب: لا مستقبل من غير ماضٍ
يُقام معرض من وحي المشروع من 15 إلى 25 كانون الثاني/يناير 2020 في صالة “بارجهاوس” في مدينة لندن (Bargehouse).
يُقام المعرض احتفاءً بتراث بدو لبنان، والأردن، والأراضي الفلسطينيّة المحتلّة، ويمنحهم الفرصة لمشاركة ثقافتهم وأسلوب حياتهم. سيلتقي الزوّار بالبدو ويتعرّفون إلى قصصهم عن طريق أعمال الفن، والتصوير، والأفلام، والتسجيلات الصوتيّة. وسيكتشفون المسارات التي اجتازها البدو عبر التاريخ، إذ عبروا حدود البلاد في الماضي، إنما يعجزون عن ذلك اليوم بسبب التغيّرات والنزاعات السياسية. يستمع الزوّار كذلك إلى كلمات البدو المشاركين في المشروع، وإلى أصواتهم، وآمالهم، ومخاوفهم تجاه المستقبل.
